Welcome to our class blog. I will update here about once a month with some things we have been doing in the class, bulletin board displays or anything I find interesting to share from the class. Feel free to leave me a comment!

Part of our Language Arts is incorporating a Daily 3 schedule for reading and writing. Students work on various 'stamina' to increase their independent time on reading and writing.

 The Terry Fox Run!

Our school did the Terry Fox Run today. Students in my class needed to run 4 laps around the field and some even chose to do more. The students were really inspired by all the great things that Terry Fox did on his Marathon of Hope, and how his legacy continues on today!
 

Last blog update for this year! 

I can't believe we are at the finish line. When I think back to all the uncertainty of September, the worries and the stress, I feel so proud of my students for being so flexible and adaptable in a strange and worrisome time. We did it!

Thank you to all of the families, you really and truly made this year so caring and your kids are amazing human beings!

Enjoying the beautiful picnic tables that the GW PAC purchased, they even have chess tables on them!

Choice bulletin board- students chose something that they wanted to share with the class.

Butterfly art and transformation journal entry on the hallway bulletin board. This was a challenging journal write but very important to think about change as we head into the end of the year and many changes ahead.

Lastly, our mosaic mural Canadian Flag. The students all worked very hard on this art project, the results are amazing and a great collaborative art piece!

Class reward party- gum, movie, board games and sundaes! Thank you again to our CCW for handling the food with her Food Safe Certificate. The students all enjoyed their ice cream :)

Our class art entry for the school's Indigenous Shawl contest entry (all schools in the district participated to win a Pow Wow being performed from their school). Sadly, we did not win, but we have glitter!

Our class made our little buddies ABC and Shape books for the end of the year. The little buddies were so happy and the class worked very hard, for about 3 weeks on these books. 

 Virtual Watershed Field Trip

We had our virtual watershed field trip in April and it was fun for everyone! The students learned about the different watersheds in the area, why they are important and how we can use less water to protect our drinking water sources. The facilitator gave the class all sorts of facts about our local watersheds and we finished off the 1 hour educational session with a fun BINGO game.
